CBL Looks To Double Its Data Recovery Service Partners Once Again

Data recovery specialist, CBL, is aiming to double its number of partners over the next 12 months after recording 100 per cent growth in its first two years of operation.
The company currently has 15 partners across Australia. Sales are split evenly between its own sales team and the channel.
With a significant segment of partner deals being invisible white label transactions, partners range from large box-builders to IT service providers and home and small business support outfits.
Managing director of CBL in Australia, Vicky Brauner, said that is would appoint a channel manager at its Brisbane HQ once partner targets had been reached.
"CBL is willing to grow with out resellers," she said. "If we doubled that number we would hire someone," she said.
CBL's growth - the company was founded in Canada in 1993 and how has offices and laboratories in nine countries worldwide - is, according to Brauner, testament to the growing reliance of IT.
"The value of data that can now be held on hard drives is astronomical," she said. "People are becoming unsettled and starting to realise that a warranty doesn't recover their data."
CBL opened its Australian laboratory in early 2003, shipping in equipment from Singapore to cope with difficult and sensitive hardware recovery. A sales office in Sydney followed in October.
"Not everybody can handle hardware - like being able to change read/write heads on a hard drive or make chip changes on a controller board," Brauner said. "We get all the tougher jobs."
It was Brauner, then a marketing manager for CBL in Canada, who made the decision to open an office in Australia.
"I did my background research - the potential is there for growth," she said.
